Obituary for Lorene P. Burris

Lorene P. Burris
On May 25, 1935, in Stone Bluff, OK Jasper and Mary Todd received their youngest daughter from God and they named her Lorene Patricia. Her dad called her Jo so that's what she went by all her life. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was married at a young age and celebrated her 64th anniversary on January 20, 2015. On December 28, 2015 her Beloved Gene passed onto heaven.
Jo & Gene were blessed with four children. Their first born and namesake is Jeanna Jo. She is married to Alan Ralph and lives in Conroe Texas. Their second child is Judith Ann. She is married to Mike Didway and lives in Bull Shoals Arkansas. Their third child is Joyce Elaine. She is married to Randy Wishman and lives in Muskogee Oklahoma. Their last child and only son is Teddy Eugene. He is married to Debbie and lives in Olympia Washington.
She was well loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was affectionately called "The Nana".
She loved cooking and experimenting on Joyce and dad. Some of her families greatest memories are the times spent in "Nana's" kitchen. Making chips, biscuits, her spaghetti and any new recipe from her many magazines she received each month.
She had several jobs but her family was her priority. She was proudest of her bookstore and enjoyed the days spent there.
She taught Sunday School and loved her time in God's Word. She was a faithful attendee of "Our Father's House" in Muskogee OK.
Jo & Gene read the Word and prayed for their family each morning, their words and prayers spoken over each one of us will be missed.
Her favorite verse was Micah 7:19 - He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us, He will subdue our iniquities; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Nana talked about this verse with her grandchild, Tiffany Wishman and said it's because she knew God would never turn away when we came back to him. She declared that Word over for her whole family.
Her final year was spent visiting the homes of her children, but the desire to be with Gene was too great. And on May 1, 2017 the Lord gave her the desire of her heart and she was reunited with her soul mate Gene.

The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral and Cremation Service with the arrangements.
